Here is how to get HyperTerminal on to Windows 7 (32 or 64-bit).

On the Windows 7 box make a new folder under:
	C:\Program Files\HyperTerminal (for 32-bit)
	C:\Program Files (x86)\HyperTerminal (for 64-bit)

From a Windows XP box and copy the following 3 files to the folder that was just created on the Windows 7 box:

	- C:\Program Files\Windows NT\hypertrm.exe
	- C:\WINDOWS\system32\hypertrm.dll
	- C:\WINDOWS\Help\hypertrm.chm

Now just run hypertrm.exe to use Hyperterminal on Windows 7.

NOTE: To also have the Icons correctly available in HypterTerminal on Windows 7, you also need to copy the following file to the newly created hyperterminal folder:

	C:\WINDOWS\system32hticons.dll

It should be mentioned that you can simply copy over the files that are in XP Mode OS, however it doesnt work in XP Mode.

You can download the files you need from this link:

A quick side note if you have problems getting your USB to Serial connection working under Windows 7 try getting drivers from http://www.prolific.com.tw/eng/downloads.asp?ID=31. The PL2303_Prolific_DriverInstaller_v10518.zip should work.

You can download PuTTY and use that as a replacement to HyperTerminal and has better tools built in.
